There went November, and not a single tasty treat was shared! Oops. The good news is in the New Year I'll actually be sharing a weekly recipe. Promise. In the meantime, read on for my 3 favorite holiday tricks for staying on track with your wellness goals- 1. Eat it if you LOVE it
There are hundreds of kinds of Christmas cookies. But probably only a few that you absolutely love. Skip the store-bought sugar cookies and packaged rice krispie treats so you can indulge in some homemade goodness. You'll be happier, and your body may recognize molasses and nuts more easily than high fructose corn syrup and red dye #5. 2. Move your body It's cold. The couch is comfy. But you'll feel better if you get up and move! Maybe not at first, but by taking a brisk walk, heading to a yoga class, or even doing an exercise video at home you'll get your endorphins flowing and heart pumping. Plus, it will help even out a bit of that cookie indulgence. 3. Be generous - in your own way Gift-giving is a wonderful part of the season, until it becomes a chore. Many people feel financial pressure around the holidays and the media hype around sales, the economy, and the year's hottest gifts doesn't help. Instead of going overboard, think about the people you'd like to share a gift with and make it something special. A homemade gift, plans for a future dinner out, or thoughtful keepsake will make much more of an impact than the #1 electronics seller on amazon. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
