My passion was always there, it just took me a couple of decades to fully embrace and design the life that keeps me inspired every day.
My love for delicious, local, sustainable food started with picking blueberries and raspberries in my backyard as a toddler. A community service trip to El Salvador in high school made me want to change the world. Finding yoga along the way kept me grounded and further sparked my curiosity about balance and self-discovery. I took my passions for food, health, and social justice and found work where they intersected. I started a farm-to-school vegetable market in New York City, worked as a vegetarian whole foods “jungle chef” at a sustainable education center in Costa Rica, led social justice leadership trainings with Oxfam America, and taught yoga classes to hundreds of students along the way. |
I designed this life with the idea of family in mind, and now it's expanding to fill a bigger space - community. I gave birth to my daughter in November 2015 and am incredibly grateful for the strength and support provided by my friends, family, colleagues and mentors. As I move through this next chapter of my life as a mother, community is the heart of my work.
I am so thankful that I get to wake up every day doing work I love and maintaining the balance that allows me to be a big part of my daughter's life in these early years. My greatest hope is that each one of us can live amazing lives that feel balanced, fulfill our passions, and positively impact the world we share. |
