Summer is here! The joy of children (and teachers) as we approach the end of the school year is a part of all of us - I remember long afternoons of running in and out of the sprinkler, picking raspberries in our backyard, and ice cream melting down the sides of the cone and all over my hands. It seemed like the days went on forever! Often as adults we don't find the same excitement this time of year. We may even feel left out of the school year cycle and summer celebration, but there are ways you can reclaim it! Read on for a few of my favorites. 1. Take an afternoon off - even if it's just leaving work an hour early to go for a long walk or sit outside with a glass of lemonade (or wine!).
2. Connect with what you loved about summer. Think back to those fond summer memories then find a way to make them happen. Jump into your local pool, order your favorite childhood treat (choco taco anyone?!) from an ice cream truck, or bike around a park. 3. Have an unplanned day. No plans! Can you imagine? I know you may have to "schedule" this day - but then you can sit back, relax, and just go where the day takes you. I'm taking a few trips this summer to enjoy the season with family and celebrate with friends. I'll still be teaching my regular yoga classes when I'm in town and we'll have one session of Mamas Circle beginning mid-July. Along with spending lots of time in my hammock and afternoons at the park with Caroline, I'll be looking ahead to the fall so let me know if there's anything you're hoping for from Siena Wellness. I hope you have a truly wonderful summer and that you get to connect with yourself, friends, and family. With love, Elizabeth
